Louise Bernbaum
Louise Bernbaum taught English/Language Arts in the English Department and Basic Skills Improvement Program at Old Bridge High School in Old Bridge, New Jersey for 32 years. She has a BA in English/Education from Adelphi University and an MA in Education/Human Development from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Louise has been a literacy/ professional development consultant for Accelerated Literacy Learning, working in the NYC and NJ schools introducing and implementing Writer's Workshop. In addition, she has been a Supervisor for teaching interns in pre-service education programs at Rutgers University Graduate School of Education and a mentor for student teachers at Georgian Court University, College of New Jersey, Monmouth University, and Montclair State University. She also scores the TOEFL Writing Exam, the English Pedagogy Praxis Exam and the California CSU EAP for the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, New Jersey.
Louise was formerly a part-time Adjunct Professor of English and Chair of the Adjunct Faculty Development Committee at Middlesex County College in Edison, NJ.
Currently, Louise is a Supervisor of Student Teachers at San Jose State University's Department of Secondary Education.
