Judi Aronson
Over the past 42 years, Judi Aronson has worked in a diverse range of roles including classroom teacher, principal, curriculum specialist and District Superintendent. Judi has also worked in district offices, at the Central Board of Education, for the New York State Education Department and at the United Federation of Teachers, and as a Network Leader for Empowerment Schools with New York City Public Schools. Judi is certified to perform School Quality Reviews by Cambridge Associates and was an evaluator of Principal candidates for the Department of Education. Judi trained at Project Zero at Harvard in using the Teaching for Understanding Framework to plan curriculum.

Judi is a consultant for Accelerated Literacy Learning and has worked extensively with school leaders nationwide to support the implementation of writer's workshop in their schools.
As principal, Judi worked with her staff to organize whole faculty study groups that used inquiry to improve student achievement. As a new leader, Judi began a journey to implement balanced literacy so that each class had a reading and writing workshop resulting in her school winning an award for closing the achievement gap. She worked closely with the National School Reform and helped teachers use protocols to look at student work as a window into student thinking and understanding. She also worked with her faculty to develop portfolios as a tool for student evaluation at PS 261.
She has authored numerous articles on education, as well as the book called “25 Super Math Spinner Games”.
