Howard Segan

Howard Segan taught in NYC schools for 10 years and was a professor at Rutgers, The New School, and Brooklyn College for 15 years.
During his tenure at Brooklyn College, he served as the Director of the NYC Middle School Initiative partnering with Districts 16 and 17 on reform efforts over a three year period. Howard then seized the opportunity to work with Anthony Alvarado as a Humanities consultant in middle and high schools in NYC’s District 2.
In 2005, Howard joined A.L.L.’s team of literacy consultants finding his niche working in some of the most struggling middle and high schools throughout New York City. Howard has worked in New Jersey (Camden), Minnesota, (St Paul) Colorado (Littleton) and California (Bay Area) offering reading and writing professional development. He was Project Director with the NYC Teaching Fellows for four years.
His diverse teaching and consulting experience makes Dr. Segan a unique agent of school improvement.
