Woodland Unified District Summer Literacy InstituteWhen: Mon Jul 30th 2018 - Fri Aug 3rd 2018
Time: All Day
In a four-day institute for classroom teachers and coaches K-5, we foster the growth and development of literacy at each school site. We invest our main energy into developing a coherent model of instruction that is consistent throughout the district. Each day is structured to include a half day content session on Introduction to Writer’s Workshop Launching the Year, as well as an opportunity for participants to work on their own piece of writing. The other half day session focuses on the implementation of Guided Reading practice. The institute will be facilitated by A.L.L.’s two senior consultants, Emily Levine and Bebe Morrissey. The institute kicks off and lays the foundation for the Onsite Professional Development for the 2018-2019 school year.
